Glocal Governance Brainstorming

Glocal Governance, mixing the mycelium model, the constellation model, sociocracy in a federated culture. This is a pre-session to the more extensive work that will be done on the topic during the weeks from September 7th to the 22nd.

Register yourself before August 6th.

August 16 – August 23

Blockchain for women

Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are powerful technologies who already are changing the world; in this context their early adopters are getting more economic and political power for shaping how the future will be. Again women are heavily misrepresented amongst these early adopters. This further creates more inequalities, adding to the burden of already present inequalities in the world today amongst genders.
As FairCoop, we want to fight this gender divide in blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies, both at the technological and economical level. Based in the FairCoin and FairCoop framework, in this summer camp we are going to share as much as we can to facilitate a more gender balanced participation about this topics.
There are 24 places available for female activists who want to learn about blockchain and FairCoin.

Register yourself before August 6th.

August 23 – September 6

FairCoop ecosystem open cooperative work

Lets reorganize FairCoop and prepare the ecosystem for the challenges of the next period.
The FairCoop ecosystem has been growing during the last year in projects, services, nodes, expansion to many places, and more forms of participation. At the same time, the budget dedicated to global tasks has remained at quite a flat level, creating a big load of work amongst few people, at the same time, many people who has been ready to contribute, had the limitations of doing it only as volunteers, needing to look outside for having incomes. Meanwhile. in the last months the FairCoin value has been growing a lot, providing more funding capacity to the FairCoop ecosystem.
We have big challenges coming up, and need to organize ourselves better! Summer is good time for diving deep into an internal reorganization for getting ready for the next period.
There are 24-30 places available for activist higly motivated to participate in the open cooperative work of FairCoop, both at global and local level. It is possible to come for one week or for the whole two weeks.
Activists developing autonomous projects connected to the FairCoop ecosystem are also welcome!

Register yourself before August 13th.

September 7 – September 22

Developing a Model of Glocal Governance

Let’s answer the call to for the Global Challenge with a proposal to a glocal model of governance in the spirit of grassroots local autonomy and global federated cooperation. We will focus during these days in September on collecting various governance best practices such as the Constellation Model, Sociocracy 3.0 and Occupy-Style Open Assemblies and combine them with the results from a series of work sessions on the topic we’ve done this year, including something we called the Mycelium Model of Glocal Governance. By the end of this work camp, we aim to have a finished, presentable proposal for a new governance best practice that can be followed as a model, at any scale, from local initiatives to global movements. A governance culture that embraces autonomy and gives authoritative answers to what we collectively want to consent to doing. Do you feel up to the challenge? You are welcome to take part!

Register yourself before August 28th.

Decentralise Now Gathering for the 99%

On the 17th of September 2015, the fourth anniversary of the birth of the Occupy movement, you are invited to come as you are to “the Mountain of the Sun” and join the first Decentralise Now gathering on Mont-Soleil, Switzerland.

We need to synergise our efforts to become more effective in creating a new reality, a new world, a new way. It is time to “Occupy the World“ and create an alliance of the alternatives. This is a call for alliance!

We do not sit idly by whilst we see countries being economically water-boarded by the banks. We cannot ignore the pressures on everyday people that these austerity measures have created. There is another way.

We are prepared for a wave of synergism that decentralises the power structures. It is time to create a culture of self-empowerment, synergy and symbiosis between each other and nations.

We are the people - we are the 99%

Whether you already are a change maker or want to become one, whether you are Occupy, Anonymous, Transition, Maker, Greens, Pirate, Podemos, Permaculture, Rainbow, Hacker, Open Source, Electronic Frontier, Commons, New Edge, Edgeryder, Danach, Neustart, Anti-WEF, Panarchy, anarcho-this or anarcho-that, social entrepreneur, artist, philanthropist, guerrilla gardener, insider, outsider, this-activist or that-activist, or just somebody that is aware - this call for alliance is to you.

It is time. Join us to Decentralise Now. In St-Imier, the home of anarchism... where it all began in 1872. We gather on the 17th of September to move ahead. The main event will be an intense collaboration and exchange that weekend, from Friday evening at 19:00 to Sunday at 17:00. This is an open ended gathering. We will continue beyond that weekend and you can join us at any time.

You are also able to participate online, if you can’t join us at the Décentrale on Mont-Soleil, Switzerland.

WHEN : SEPTEMBER 17TH, 2015
WHERE: DECENTRALE, MONT SOLEIL, ST-IMIER, SWITZERLAND

We intend to make this event prix-libre. We will need your financial support. Please expect to expend what you can afford to pay for such an event. If you can give more, please do. If you know people that might be able to make a financial contribution, please encourage them to do so.

Sign up and find more details here on the website decentralisenow.org, as they become available.

Program of the 2014 Beau-Sejour gathering
Itinerary for the "Finding the Seed for the New System" Beau-Sejour weekend:

Friday, November 21, 2014

You are welcome to join us on Friday already at 17:00 for us to be cooking and eating dinner together.

At 19:00 we all meet for our evening session. Together, we will review and discuss the topics that have emerged during the 2012 and 2013 gatherings and what has happened as a result with the creation of the Permavillage and La Décentrale projects on Mont-Soleil. We will talk about assumptions we've come to last year, like how the workings of current democracy, finance and civil society are all heavily influenced by a single defining pattern, circling around the way money is created, and how this pattern defines the evolution of virtually all aspects of our current societies. This will give us a head start, laying out the terrain we will be covering on Saturday. At around 21:30 we will end the Friday evening session.

Saturday, November 22, 2014

At 9:30 we will start our morning session, prepare and eat lunch together around noon, continue with our afternoon session at 13:30 and end Saturdays session at 18:30. There will be the option of having dinner together as well for those of you that like to stick around Saturday night.

Sunday, November 23, 2014

Again, at 9:30 we will start our morning session, prepare and eat lunch together around noon, continue with our afternoon session at 13:30 and end the 2014 Beau-Sejour gathering at 16:00 on Sunday.

Accommodation

There are beds available for you to sleep in the house of La Décentrale, so there should be no need to look for other accommodation. If you like to stay here during the nights, please let me know, so I can make sure there is a bed reserved for you.

How to get here

This year for the first time, the Beau-Sejour gathering will take place at La Décentrale on Mont-Soleil.

decentrale.ch

You can easily find your way to Mont-Soleil by public transportation, taking the funicular up from St-Imier:

La Décentrale is located just 150 meters from the top station of the funicular.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Invitation to the 2014 "Beau-Sejour" gathering, November 21-23 in St-Imier, Switzerland
This years Beau-Sejour gathering will follow up on the results of the previous years and the calling topic will be...

"Finding the Seed for the New System"

During last years gathering, one central topic that emerged was how the workings of current democracy, finance and civil society are all heavily influenced by a single defining pattern, circling around the way money is created.

This pattern defines the evolution of virtually all aspects of our current societies. This year, we will be searching for new patterns, which can encourage the growing of the new in the shadow of the old.

This years Beau-Sejour gathering will for the first time be taking place on the La Décentrale property up on Mont-Soleil, above St-Imier.
